There are actually quite a lot of hints. But no-one thinks they're useful because you have to read between the lines.

And they appear in jails and in villages because each character is apparently a reincarnation. The Nerevarine was in Morrowind, and when KotN was released it became apparent that your character may be mantling Pelinal Whitestrake, apparently, although he denied it, the reincarnation of Shezarr.
The Empire is a confidence trick. Do you, the famed warrior races of Tamriel, having won international renown for your fighting prowess, consider yourselves and your abilities inferior to those of money-grabbing merchants and diplomats in armour?

That would be an interesting twist on things.

What would be cool is if you start the game assaulting a castle or town and during the assault you get knocked out, wake up in the wilderness and have to find your way back to civilisation (much like escaping the sewers and stuff in the beginning of Oblivion)

Well I would find that cool :D

Wow, that would be epic.

Like you have to make do with crap armor and a beat up bow or sword. I would love that.

It will be hard to do that. Oblivion took a dump on established lore. They will not do that again, if they're sensible.

The Maormer and Falmer are possible for Summerset Isle and Skyrim, respectively. But don't expect to be able to play as them if they are in the game.
