ye old storytellers inn

Postby souro » February 14th, 2010, 4:00 am

this thread is for all you guys who have exciting, weird, or just a good story of a dungeon raid. i have been making alot of stories in threads but i always think there off topic. so post anything creative. it can even be a funny strategy. its hard to be off topic in here, unless your trying to be off topic of course.

by the way. 3 line or less storys arn't very interesting. im not trying to be mean but the longer the story the better.

now since alot of poeple use mods at the start of your story just say any mods that are included with it and a short sentence or two on what they do.

heres a few of my stories.

another umbra brawl
ever since my mishap in walking into umbra's dungeon without knowing it and having nothing more than alot of rusty iron armor and an iron hammer. ive done alot of things to kill umbra at level 1. my most recent one uses miniature necromancy which lets you make permanent skelingtons, ghosts, and zombies.

heres the story. i have an army of skelingtons with bow and alot of iron arrows so i can use them as support fire. i also have some skelingtons with axes. anyway im walking through the dungeon and that bloody pit fall trap kills half of my army (mostly my axe wielders). then i get to umbra. but guess what, fate decided to be cruel to me. the problem with miniature necromancy is that skelingtons dont attack npcs such as guards, and more importantly (and unfortunatly) they dont attack umbra. so now im running and having a flashback of my first encounter and seemed ironic. i make an army just so it doesnt work. so i run away but luckily when i ran into the room with the pit fall trap and i found a new strategy on the spot (yipee). i decided to use that pit fall trap to my gain. so im jumping over the corners while umbra falls in. i repeat this a couple of times and she dies. but she dies in the middle of the trap. i have extremly low health and no potions (no thanks to umbra, or my skelingtons). so i think of a way to get it without triggering the trap. nothing seemed to work. so i just make a mad jump into the middle, grab the stuff and then get over encumbered. i die and , forgeting to save, i start all over at the begining.

every time you get a new hammer, a giant orc comes with a bigger one and hits you with it until you give up your hammer. thats why i dont have hammers.

ok that last post was too long and i could only get one story out. so im gonna continue onto here.

ok this story also includes miniature necromancy (you probably can tell its my favourite). but i used resurrected mortals which is kinda like a zombie npc.

i was laying siege to the waterfront district. me, my trusty shiny new umbra i recently received, and about 5 zombie mortals. my strategy was simple. go into a house, kill him while hes asleep, ressurect him as my slave. soon i got about 12 undead enlisted in my army. i needed arms for my undead civilians so i headed over to the market district (i silently assasinated the poeple so i didnt have a bounty). i grabbed about 3 daggers, a iron warhammer, a few iron plates, and 5 iron longswords. i also got some chainmail and silver shortsword for my "undead general" who used to be a bandit ringleader. now since guards kept getting themselfs killed by walking off into necrotopious (i pretty much have this place hostage, might as well make it my base of operations). those guards made EXCELLENT additons. the thing with resurrected mortals is that they are as strong as the npc who was being ressurected. so i had about 4 imperials and been getting more and more. soon i had an army of about 24. i decided i should go for the talos plaza district. but thats when my army got hurt. there were alot of guards on patrol that day. so i thought i should bring a few guys and attack the place that they respawn, the good old guard tower. so i brought about 8 undead soldiers over to the guard house and started unleashing them when they were asleep. unfair advantage? i think of it as a strategic choice. but all those guys died, then i made them a part of my army. soon i had the talos plaza district. i decided i should leave while i had the soldiers. so i brought all my men over to pell's gate. i killed everyone but the guy who respawns. then i put 3 guards at every entrance, 6 at the inn, and the leftovers dotted over the settlement. soon i thought about takeing a few over to the road and wait for a imperial patrol, which would soon be part of my undead army too. i then realized i needed more weapons. so i went over to good old anvil and got a few things. i mostly got maces, axes, daggers, and shortswords and let them use those. now after a few imperial patrols where suddenly "lost" i had enough to take another settlement. thats all im gonna tell you right now.

ok for some reason my posts get diffucult to write because the post box can only be so long. but heres another one of my stories.

army of zombies vs umbra
ok so now im thinking i should make a series or something. but umbra has been a diffcult but good target for a level 1 to kill. i have found multiple ways to kill umbra. but one turn of events is that i brought a skelington army to umbra. i have minature necromancy which allows you to create permament undead.

ok so my last undead army of skelingtons failed. but i recently discovered that ressurected mortals (you can revive someone you killed and enlist them in your army) actully attack umbra. now im level 1 again and i have 10 resurrected bandits, which have all fur and a bow and arrow, iron hammer, or a mace/axe and a shield. now i have 3 bow wielders and the rest are meelers. so now i go into the dungeon. i figured out how to get past that blasted pit fall trap that kills all my men. all i gotta do is activate it, then quickly walk over when its coming back up so all my guys come over when it starts rearming. now i have all my undead and i thought strategicaly. i station all 3 of my bow men at that ledge that has complete few of umbra. then i get the other 7 to attack umbra. all i was doing was watching and flinging the occasional spell. the bowmen were a great help because umbra was really sliceing through the others. the only one that survived though is the ressurected ringleader and the 3 bowman. but umbra sliced through the others really well. so umbra kills all my undead meelers (except ringleader) so she comes after me. i run for my life as the bowman start flinging more arrows.finally i look through my spell list and i remember i had a powerful scroll. i use it and she finally died. as always i looted her ebony armor and umbra and then i thought up something. umbra could be a GREAT addition to my army, so i ressurect her and give her one of the dead bandit's equipment. i still am useing her because of her great blade skills, and armor skills. she currently has full steel and a silver shortsword. i'm used to giving my army ranks, and umbra is an easy general. so i have her in pell's gate with the rest of my army (i didnt kill everyone there i just kinda roleplayed that they agreed to let me put them there for protection). i use umbra for hard dungeons or oblivion gates and such.

ok i seem to be posting here alot. im doing this because i have ALOT of stories to share, its just everyone else doesnt. ive been playing oblivion for about a year and i have had many adventures. here is a new series of short stories of my new charector baringar, a friendly necromancer. these would be kinda like journal entries.

last seed 27th morndas
ive been blasted framed! im here in the imperial prison because my brother has made my name as a necrobeing as a killer and insane! that benirus scum is dead now, but now im being framed as being apart of his attempt siege of anvil! i didn't do anything! that bloody dark elf is getting on my nerves. hes been mocking my existence. if only he saw my last army before they were all killed. oh no i hear the guards coming. maybe that blasted dark elf was right, this may be my final day on this land. oh wait, they have the emperor, maybe there escorts getting him out of trouble. ive heard from the guards that the emperor has been getting in more and more risk.

last seed 27th morndas, later in the day.
im free! there was a secret compartment in my cell all along! they brought the emperor through it. but unfortunatly the emporor died by assasins dressed in red and black. he even trusted me enough to give me the amulet of kings. i must bring it to this jauffre fellow, but hes a monk. how will he react with a necrobeing coming in. he probably knows necrobeings are ussually friendly, or at lease a little, but still. i just hope he wont see me carrying the amulet and kill me thinking i stole it, or killed the emperor. well if i know anything i know that i might get mugged or something with that amulet. so im going over to a fellow friend. a necromancer that has been allowed to help necrobeings infront of the arcane university. i can get a few free black soul gems to make a skelington for an escort.

you guys gotta start posting, im the only one with stories, you can post ANY story about oblivion, just post it here.

i lost the saved data of baringur through installation, buy i made a new one named baringur with the same thing, lucky lucky lucky that i didnt get too far with the other, i will continue on from where baringur started off

last seed, 30th
blasted bandit, a group of them mugged me on my way to jauffre, they took the amulet thinking it would make them rich. luckily i got a skelington scout to follow them to there hideout, cursed mine. i resurrected 2 of the bandits i managed to kill and i fixed up my 2 skelington escorts. let me point something out, when a skelington dies the soul i attached to it lingers at the body, this can linger for days until releasing, all i had to do is replace a ribcage that got shattered by the hammer. i can use the body of a dead one too make my own fresh zombie, it almost exactly like the person who died but it looks like they havn't slept for months. when i got to the cave i remembered, before i was imprisoned by my brother, i went through that cave once. i have an out standing memory and there were many traps in that cave, which could hurt the bandits. i sent my 2 fresh fleshlings into the cave as undercover spies. they then came out and said that all the traps were triggered and nearly all of them are dead, but the ringleader and about 5 bandits have hidden at the last room. i gathered up a few poisons i was making when the fleshlings were scouting and headed in. i was careful to harvest every body for its bones, flesh, heart, and blood. i made about 2 more skelingtons and a zombie for a strategy. i lured one bandit out at a time with the moan of the zombie, thinking that i was coming back for my stuff one bandit would scout, id kill that bandit and resurrect it and told it to go back and say nothing was there, they were in the tent so they couldnt see the old pale face on the fleshling so they continued. then the fleshling got close enough and stabbed the ringleader in the back, then my skelingtons used there bows to kill 2 others. finally i just set the last one on fire and started searching for the amulet. i found it on the ringleader, selfish brat must've confiscated it from the other bandits, i also grabbed the loot from his other confiscated goods in his chest. i then resurrected the ringleader and harvested the other's corpse and headed out. i started after weynon priory and looked at my poisons, funny how a good strategy is the only thing you need.

I have some relatively brief stories about my main character Tom that I could type up and post here. I may do that later when I have the time. I like the idea of this topic.

I forget his name but he's the destruction master "merchant" you are warned is too strong to defeat. I was on my way to take him down and he was in an inn. I had mead so I put some next to him, nothing. Then I remembered I have poison apples. I threw down some poisoned apples, nothing. I stole the cups/food from around him so he'd have nothing else to eat. He went through the eating motions despite nothing being there. I was getting annoyed so I stole EVERYTHING, every last cup, plate, piece of silverware, food, basket, wine bottle in the whole inn. There was nothing left to not kill/paralyze him. But he went through the empty eating motions. So I said enough of this and I did a charging power attack on his butt. In one blow I killed him and knocked his dead body over the railing, down the stairs, and slid down into the lobby.

His second performance was he died on the road before I even got to him. I decided to see what happened and found him dead and standing over him a lone khajit bandit. I have no respect for this man.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

neither do i.

i decided to replace all of chorrol's food supply with poison apples, long story short, waste of alot of poison apples. you couldnt kill sheep with that even if you put them in the food trough with no other food.

Why, because they wouldn't eat the apples?
