Hey guys. I just wanted to know what you guys thought about this. There are 3 sides to this argument...

1) No kids, if it ain't broke, don't fix it

2) Kids, but they are essential

3) Kids, they are not essential

Kids would be great, but number 3 would make the game AO, and it would be harder to get into the market, but I do not think they should leave kids out entirely, especially when NPC's talk about kids. There were kids in fallout, but they were essential. They should do it like that.

2. (Why don't you start a poll?) I think that it is and always will be odd and unrealistic if there aren't any children. And then there is the matter of toilets, but I'll save that for another day.

I think you mean outhouses. They didn't have toilets in medieval times, which is the sort of environment that the Elder Scrolls takes place in. ;)

Yeah, I know... But they call bathrooms "toilets" in Hawaii, not that I live there or anything. ;)

Oblivion is not in the Medieval Times (Or Middle Ages, rather), or even greater, Tamriel.

To begin with, think about it. Does Morrowind really imply the Middle Ages? It doesn't imply anything. It implies fantasy.

In the Middle Ages were there Steam Powered Machines? (If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about take a trip to Morrowind)

Also, from Redguard, there were cannons. Cannons.

Cannons weren't in full practical use until the 15th century, which was right after the Middle Ages.

Once again, if you're going to protest:

Morrowind was not during a time of war. So no cannons were needed, or placed.
Oblivion, though in a time of war, the Imperial Legion was greatly off in other portions of the world. Presumably taking the canons. And if you're going to protest this, the Imperial Legion we see are greatly Guards. We rarely see soldiers. Small bands of them, which would indicate that they won't have cannons.

Also, read Disaster at Ionith, cannons.

Once more, the Middle Ages were not controlled by a central power. In Tamriel, the Imperial Legion acts as an allegory to the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire by the Middle Ages, as wall but a memory.

/rant :p

Also, let the kids in. It's Bethesda choice if we can kill 'em or not. I'd just get a mod that enables me to do so if they do, if they don't yay.

In Fallout 3, you can't kill the children. I think there would be complaining if you were able to.

And the game's ESRB rating would probably be pretty high.

*In the credits*

"No children were harmed in the making of this game."

Won't help a damn bit.
It's not about whether that actual kids in the game were harmed, it's the depiction of kids...

Oh wait.

THE VIRTUAL DEPICTION OF KIDS!

Yes, yes!

There is a law.
There is a law that forbids child pornography, we all know it.
Then there's a variation of hentai (if you don't know what that is, Google it. WITH THE SAFE SEARCH ON.) called lolicon. All I can say that it is hentai with depictions of minors. Lolicon is 100% legal.

Now, in the game, killing the kid will be the DEPICTION of kids. So on the notion that it is the DEPICTION of kids getting brutally maimed, and not actual kids, it's perfectly good.

Yeah.
