An Update on Skyrim Character Support

Greetings, community.

With Skyrim's release happening just a couple of days ago, we feel that now is a good time to inform you about our current progress toward the launch of support for Skyrim characters on The Elder Stats. Currently, you can only create statistical profiles for your Oblivion characters on The Elder Stats, but very soon (hopefully sometime before New Year's) we will be launching support for the ability to create statistical profiles for your Skyrim characters, as well.

As you can imagine, we are very excited about the opportunities for growth and expansion that will arise for The Elder Stats by launching Skyrim character support. As a result, we have been working diligently over the past few days to prepare the website for Skyrim character support, and part of this preparation includes a complete redesign of the website and a rewriting of the majority of the website's core codebase. This will certainly be no simple task, but we believe that it is in everyone's best interest for us to completely revamp the website from the ground up. As we come closer to a finalized concept, we'll be releasing pictures of the new design in order to receive your opinions. We think you'll like what we have in store for The Elder Stats!

Please note that we'll be launching Skyrim character support together with the new site design, so you won't be seeing any changes on the website until the time of launch, which we hope will be within the next couple of months at the latest. Our goal is to recreate the Elder Stats experience to properly coincide with the improvements made in Skyrim, and our current design and website infrastructure do not adequately facilitate that end. Thus, we will be working diligently over the next couple of months to make our planned improvements a reality. Imagine being able to update your character's profile data right on the profile page itself, instead of having to scroll through that long list of statistics in the UCP to make updates. Imagine decreased page load times all around the website. Imagine a cleaner, more elegant design that enhances your overall experience on The Elder Stats. These are among the items which we intend to address while we work on the new improvements which we have planned for the website.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please feel free to post them in reply to this topic, or as a new topic in the Elder Stats Discussion Forum. As always, we welcome your input and appreciate your interest in The Elder Stats.
