Personally I am not doing this because I doubt my computer can handle it, but even if you don't have a great computer, there are many graphical mods than can substantially improve the look of the game.
And here is imo the best resource for Morrowind mods out there: http://www.mwmythicmods.com/ a few of the links are outdated but the majority of them work.

I realize it's years later, but this might be useful for someone else who wonders the same thing. You can pick up Morrowind on sales for literally $1-2. There's really no need to pirate it.

Yeah, it's crazy how cheap it is, even on Steam. Definitely worth the purchase.
