GREAT info on races, more perk trees. What does the Nord's new power, "Battlecry" do? Strengthen Dragon Shouts?

I agree with EGM's take on the matter.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V
That countdown page is pretty cool. I'm going to be so addicted to this game. It's insane. I've watched that 20 minute trailer three times so far.
The fact that you can mine ore is incredible. I wonder how that will work. Will there just be a designated place that you mine, and you just hack away at a rocky wall and acquire different ores? I can't imagine the rocks you are mining will actually be destroyed like how it is in Minecraft. And apparently there are thirteen different ores? Not to mention the actual use out of mining which is to create arms and armor.
There are also the other acts of cooking and wood cutting. I love the fact that you can have jobs in this game.
And it's good that they cut things out and combined different things that were in Oblivion. I like how they made Speechcraft and Mercantile into one skill of just "Speech." And instead of raising your intelligence to gain more magicka, you just raise your magicka directly.
I'm also pretty sure that you cannot be the best at everything in this game, like how it is in Fallout. I never liked that in Oblivion. You could literally just go into someone's house in that game and keep doing your minor skill Illusion charm spell on them, and after about an hour or so, your Illusion skill will be at 100.
Anyway, yeah, like I've said before, this game is gonna rule.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V
Also, I hope they have a different system for the charge system on enchanted weapons. I know I mentioned this before, but the fact that a weapon has a charge like 1500/1500, it runs out, and you have to charge it back up with soul gems (that you can either find or refill by stealing a soul with a spell) or take it to someone who can charge it (for a pretty hefty price) just seems like an extremely convoluted process.
I heard somewhere that the charge system will be in Skyrim though, so that's kind of disappointing. It would be better if the magical properties of the weapon took energy from your magicka instead of a charge. And also, a toggle feature for the use of the weapon's magical properties would be very useful.
This video has really stupid sounding music, but this is Skyrim's character creation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCFhKWj9 ... re=related. Of course, he's using a Khajiit, and not a human to test out the new beards in this game.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V
Yeah, from that GTTV video and a preview I was reading, it seems like there is going to be animals like chickens and rabbits. I don't know if that was a well-known fact, but it's new to me.
And I also read in an preview that the streams/rapid/rivers in this game have the ability to carry things downstream:
It was from this preview: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/120/1200629p1.html
To me, that's a really nice aspect of the game. I was thinking how cool it would be to drop a book into the current, then later on in the game, you stumble upon it again and see it gently floating along a lake or bay in a completely different place. Or just go in the current yourself and see where it takes you.
And this is just a thought I had: Is there a limit to the amount of dragon shouts you can do? Or are they just regular spells? I feel like there needs to be some kind of downside to them to balance everything out.
And I also read in an preview that the streams/rapid/rivers in this game have the ability to carry things downstream:
IGN wrote:"While chasing a deer near a river bank, I noticed dragonflies buzzing around my head. I tried to snatch them out of the air, failed, and realized the deer had sprinted entirely out of view. In a nearby waterfall fish jumped from bottom to top, and by standing on a rock in the midst of the rapids I was able to pluck one out. I let the moving water carry me downstream, where I found the deer again, killed it, and watched its corpse float along with the current, bumping into rocks along the way."

Re: The Elder Scrolls V
Yeah, water physics are definitely in.
And there is a set number of shouts, but you unlock as you wish, learning the words (three total for each shout) from Word Walls, then absorbing dragon souls as "tokens"
to unlock new shouts, or words for shouts.
Got some great stuff here. Also, check Bethesda's Podcast page. They have a new one centered on Skyrim.

Probably the best time I've ever had reading an article about Skyrim, and the player is EVIL! Great writer:

Re: The Elder Scrolls V
TONS of new footage clips here... We get to see the "picking up" feature, kinda like Oblivion, mining, alchemy, smithing, and other combat scenes.

But I mean, is there going to be a downside to the dragonshouts? Like using only one a day for example. I feel like if they only use magicka, it makes a mage class much less useful.
Well maybe mages are supposed to have more magicka making them able to use dragon shouts more frequently. I don't know. I guess we'll have to see.
