The War Room

Postby scrimmythefox » June 28th, 2010, 12:32 am

This topic if for everyone to tell about their favorite armor sets, weapons, rings and necklaces, enchanted weapons, and anything of that nature. Tell us how you found it, what you like about it, how it compares to other sets you've used, and what you suggest for other players. Everyone of course knows that most items in the game are randomized so its not certain that something you read in a post will be where said player found it. Anyway enjoy

Ok, here's my full set

Helm of lindai
Amulet of axes
Whats spell?-20% resist magic perfect madness cuirass
Mundane ring
ring of iron fists
Nightlight or Burn Creame- 40ft light/25 fire shield perfect madness gauntlets.
Einstein -10 intelligence perfect madness greaves
cursed daedric boots of the thrall
Shadowrend

Well the custom items I made and the rest I found. My outfit gives me over 100% in both resist magic and reflect melee, making him nearly invincible. I picked amulet of axes over amulet of blades cause even though I'm a blade user I have over 100 blades naturally so boosting anymore is meaningless. When it's bright out or when I think emitting a big light would be silly I switch to burn creame. Though I mostly use the burn creame for it's 25 armor boost in an rp aspect to get me to a higher armor class cause with shadowrend I can't hold a shield for it's ac boost. But I really don't even need that much cause only arrows can hurt him. I mostly use Einstein for an rp aspect to give him a 100 int. Now if I had cared enough to grind out ideal sigil stones during main quest or use the frostcragspire glitch i'd switch out night light for a 70ft light same thing and get a 125 feather perfect madness boots so they match the rest of my outfit. I picked perfect madness for everything cause I'm a heavy armor man and perfect madness is the best heavy armor there is. Plus it looks awesome and it totally unique so your dude has style.

I like him very much to, and thanks. Course he is a bit of a bladed melee specialist. His marksman isn't too great but heck he's an unecnumbered 110 speed so he can rub up and stab anyone by the time he could take a shot or two. His magic is mostly tactically made to support combat to. He has restoration in the bag so his health and fatigue and well taken care of. Diseases and poison are a bad idea since he is a redguard plus with instant spell cures on both they're all but useless. His mysticism is mostly soul trap to keep his blade fed, I also like his tactical uses of a few second long paralyze spells. But then again this is what I designed him to be, a long-term self-sufficent person who can work essentially forever with no support. Kinda like a green beret I suppose.

I've never liked marksman, I find the aiming too hard. Or hard enough so I don't bother enough to practice to get good at it.

for me marksman is a gift from heaven. in the brotherhood quests it saved me many many times, its great for the sneaky character. once you get the zoom ability everything gets even easier, but im usually good enough to not need it. im still a fan of my claymores and daggers, dont get me wrong, but in the general balance of my characters, marksman is important to me. plus almost anyone i hit is killed instantly. from a distance it saves me trouble especially if nobody knows i did it.

Too bad oblivion doesn't have headshots, does it?
